1. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run the marketplace:

• Account details — email, display name, password (hashed by Supabase Auth)
• Optional profile info — birthdate (for age-restricted titles), bio, avatar
• Purchase and library history
• Author content you upload (covers, ebook files, chapter text)
• Optional payout email for authors
• Basic technical data (browser type, approximate region) for security and performance

2. Payments

Card and PayPal details are processed by PayPal. We do not store your full card numbers on our servers. We only keep order records needed for delivery, refunds, and author earnings.

3. How we use information

• Provide accounts, libraries, purchases, and publishing tools
• Deliver ebooks you buy or publish
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and underage access to restricted titles
• Respond to support requests
• Improve site performance and reliability

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Cookies & local storage

We use browser storage for sign-in sessions, cart, wishlist, and simple preferences. You can clear these anytime in your browser settings. Clearing them may sign you out or empty your cart.

5. Sharing

We share data only with providers required to operate the service (e.g. Supabase for database/auth/storage, PayPal for payments, Netlify for hosting). We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the platform and users.

6. Your choices

• Update profile details from your account page
• Request a copy of your data or account deletion by emailing support
• Authors can remove unpublished drafts; published sales records may be retained for accounting

7. Children

Royal Books Hub is not directed at children under 13. Age-restricted titles may require a confirmed birthdate. Parents or guardians who believe a child provided data should contact us.

8. Security

We use industry-standard hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and access controls. No online service is 100% secure — please use a strong unique password.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
